Turning to Oils

I have a confession to make… I’ve started using essential oils! I’ve never been one to hop on bandwagons, but I’ve made the leap and hopped right on up to this one. I have to admit, when I was first approached by a friend about Young Living Essential Oils about a year ago, I was skeptical. Could they help me? Were they worth it? How would I even start? I took a while to decide if it was really something I wanted to try or not. In the end, I decided to give it a try.

While not a miracle for me health-wise, I have noticed some minor improvements. Diffusing lavender helps calm my anxiety, applying DiGize with a mix of peppermint and lavender helps my stomach, diffusing peppermint helps with headaches, cleaning with Thieves doesn’t stuff me up or cause asthma attacks. Overall, I am impressed. Are they a cure? Gosh no. Do they replace my medications? Nope. But do they help? Yeah, they really do.

Plus, its really fun to make things. So far I have made hand purifier, hand soap, air freshener, hair spritz, pest repellent, disinfectant, anti-itch cream, a rub that helps my stomach, and I have diffused blends that help with sleep, allergies, headaches, anxiety, asthma, among other things. Next up on my list is homemade vapor rub, its that time of year!

I have found that not only do these oils help me and my mom, but they also help my cats. One has anxiety, one has tummy problems, one has a chronic case of the zoomies, and one has allergies. I am able to diffuse blends that help them. And, with using Thieves products, I know that they’ll be okay if they jump in the bathtub while I’m cleaning it, or if they decide they need to lick the hand purifier off of my hands…they won’t get hurt from it.

Then there’s the business side of things. First, when I started using Young Living oils, I was of course hesitant to start. Then I learned about the business opportunity that could go along with it, and I was hesitant about that as well. After doing some research, I dived right in. I have a wonderful sponsor who is training me and teaching me. I am loving every moment of it. I think my favorite part is the fact that I don’t even have to do any actual selling. The products sell themselves. I am still just starting out, and I still have so much to learn, but I’m excited! I could use a bit of extra money, and I think being a Young Living distributor/sponsor/I-don’t-even-know-a-name-for-what-I-am-yet is going to be a fun and exciting way to bring in that extra cash.
